Abstract

The 2021 elections in Campeche, marked the beginning of political alternation
in the state. This process was based on the principles of gender parity and alternation in the electoral contest. What had seemed to be a challenge ended up being a norm during and after the process.
The results of this process reflected a political maturity and social change that has led not only to alternation, but also to the greater participation by and access of women to elected positions in the local political arena. This article analyzes the results of the 2021 local elections in the state of Campeche, from a parity and alternation perspective.
